Leah Smith has won the under-15 girls most valuable player award at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Smith, who plays for the Bermuda under-17 and under-20 sides, was presented with the award by her IMG coach Kim Dean at the IMG Academy Soccer Awards Banquet.

“This is a player who from start to finish this year, on and off the field, academically and socially, was a presence to our team throughout,” Dean said.

“She’s made her under-17 and under-20 national teams back home, and every time on the field she just made everything happen for our group.”

Smith, who captains Bermuda under-17, will be in action for the Island in the Caribbean Football Union World Cup qualifiers next month.
