My knights in shining armour

Dear Sir,

On days like today, I’m so happy to live in Bermuda.

For the first time in my life I experienced a flat tyre. Of course, the timing was such that my husband had just left the Island.

It was not long after I had set my hazard lights blinking and called a friend before two knights in shining armour noticed this damsel in distress. I wasn’t really distressed, just hot. And bothered. And thinking: what a pain … and where is that jack and wrench!?

I was so fortunate that Frank and his friend stopped to assist; willingly, politely and SO efficiently as they replaced my shredded tyre with my rather elderly and sun-baked spare in a blink!

Interestingly, when my tyres were replaced (not so long ago) they were sold as ‘new’ — not exactly as the retreads they have now been exposed to be!

I was lucky — the collapse of my retreaded tyre did me and my car no damage and my sincere thanks go to Frank and his friend for making no drama out of, what was for me, of a bit of a crisis and reminding me the good that is still alive and well in Bermuda’s citizens. Carry on shining all ye knights of Bermuda.
