Kudos for the excellent article “The West Indian Connection” by Kyle Hunter in this past weekend’s paper.

However, I would like to point out that although the writer went to great lengths to include everyone possible, it seems he has overlooked Mr Shiraz Ali, who played for Somerset Cricket Club for many years.

He was a wily spin bowler and made a huge contribution playing alongside and against all the players featured in the article. My recollection of Mr Ali is that he was a soft-spoken individual and always a gentleman on or off the field. I believe he still resides in Bermuda.
