CD&P back new event

Rematch: Foster and Johnson are expected to meet in the final of this weekend's tournament

The Bermuda Squash Racquets Association has launched the inaugural Conyers Dill & Pearman Squash Tournament, which will take place this weekend at the Devonshire courts

More than 50 competitors will take part in three divisions including junior players as young as 12 up to more experienced players in their sixties.

In the A Division, Patrick Foster, the BSRA director of squads, will renew his rivalry with Kristen Johnson, the head coach at CourtHouse Squash and Wellness Centre.

Both are seeded to meet in a repeat of this year’s Bermuda National Championships final when Foster came out on top.

Johnson recorded the most recent victory between the two in an interclub match setting up an interesting match-up.

Foster said: “It’s fantastic to have Conyers Dill & Pearman step up to sponsor a new event at a typically quiet time of year for squash.

“We are excited to see full draws, some great players included and such a large number of players wanting to be involved.

“We’re looking forward to a great weekend of squash.”

All draws for the tournament, which runs from August 6 to 8, can be found at www.bermudasquash.com
