Holding tryouts: David Bascome will be taking a close look at Bermuda players with professional ambitions this weekend

Bermuda players will have the chance to earn trials at United States professional outdoor and indoor teams at the Bascome Pro Combine this weekend.

Held at BFA Field, on Saturday and Sunday, the tryouts will run from 5 to 8pm at a cost of $100 per player, who must be aged between 18 and 25.

David Bascome, the assistant coach of the indoor pro team Baltimore Blast, and his brother Andrew, the Bermuda head coach, will run the rule over the players.

The Validus Pro Soccer Clinic is presently holding the week two of its football camp after a successful opening week at the North Field, National Sports Centre.

More than 140 youngsters, aged between 4 and 16, took part in last month’s first camp, learning skills and techniques of the game.

David Bascome, the CEO of Bascome Enterprise, said: “This year we are going into our 24th year of the clinic and we are greatly appreciated of the support we have received.

“The young players worked hard this week and showed great discipline on and off the field.

“We have plenty of talent in Bermuda and each year I return for the clinic I’m amazed at the skill level of the young players.”

Week two of the camp started on Monday and will run until Friday.
