New carwash off to solid start

Time to celebrate: Budget-Jet Car Wash & Valet Services owners Tracy and David Salawu, with their daughter Busayo and son, Ayo-Oluwa, and Mrs Salawu’s mother Beryl Ottley, centre, who performed the ribbon-cutting at the business’s grand opening

One hundred cars washed in the space of a month has given Budget-Jet Car Wash & Valet Services the perfect start. The new business on North Shore Road, Pembroke, had a soft opening at the end of August and has quickly established itself with customers.

With its first month completed, owners David and Tracy Salawu celebrated by holding a grand opening event attended by customers and supporters. The ribbon-cutting was done by Mrs Salawu’s mother Beryl Ottley.

The carwash is directly opposite Grace Methodist Church, and was formerly a vacant plot.

Mrs Salawu said word was spreading about the business as customers tell friends and colleagues about it, and some have left reviews on the business’s website and Facebook page.

“We’ve had a lot of customers, but we would like more people to give us a chance to show what we can do,” said Mrs Salawu.

“It is a great location, which is away from the hustle and bustle of city traffic.”

Customers can either stop by to have their car cleaned, or arrange to have it collected, washed and returned. Mrs Salawu also encouraged customers to book an appointment, either by phone or through the website. “It is a nice way to get your car washed while you are at work.”
