Dunkley: Island stands by people of France

Michael Dunkley has written a letter of sympathy to François Hollande, the President of France, as a show of support from Bermuda in the wake of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris.

“The people of Bermuda share the distress, the sadness and the horror experienced by the people of France,” the Premier wrote.

Although far from France geographically, the Island shares “the values of freedom, democracy and brotherhood that France has championed throughout its modern history,” Mr Dunkley added.

The Island’s flag has been flown at half-mast in solidarity, he said, expressing Bermuda’s support for the French people.
