Reggie Lambe scored his third goal of the season to rescue a point for Sky Bet League Two side Mansfield Town, who drew 1-1 with Leyton Orient on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead in the twelfth minute when Jay Simpson headed in Jobi McAnuff’s cross at the back post.

However, Mansfield hit back five minutes before half-time when Lambe volleyed in Craig Westcarr’s cross from out wide, to earn the home team a share of the spoils.

It was Lambe’s second goal in two games for Mansfield, who stayed seventh in League Two.

While Lambe had every reason to be upbeat, the same could not be said for his compatriots Nahki Wells and Rai Simons who were not as fortunate.

Wells’s Huddersfield Town went down 2-1 at John Smith’s Stadium in their Sky Bet Championship clash with Bristol City.

Huddersfield fell behind in the seventh minute to Jonathan Kodjia’s header from a free kick.

The home team were awarded a penalty in the eleventh minute after Wells was fouled in the area, but Emyr Huws’s kick was saved.

The visiting team doubled their lead when Aden Flint nodded in a free header at the back post from another setpiece, before Harry Bunn pulled one back for Huddersfield with a long range effort six minutes from the end.

By then Wells, who had three shots saved, had limped off with an ankle injury around the hour mark, and is now doubtful for his team’s upcoming home clash with Rotherham United.

“Nahki had an ice pack on his ankle after the game and we will wait and see,” David Wagner, the Huddersfield coach, said.

Chesterfield also suffered defeat after losing 1-0 away to Bury in League One.

Danny Mayor struck the winner for the home side, just seconds after Simons, who had a quiet game, came on as a 68th minute substitute.
