Brentford v Huddersfield highlights

First Prev 1 2 Next Last

Nahki Wells came on as a second half substitute but could not stop Huddersfield Town being well beaten 4-2 at Brentford on Saturday.

Wells created one goal, hit a post, and went close on several occasions as Huddersfield produced a display David Wagner, the manager, called the “worst he had seen” from his side in the Sky Bet Championship.

Brentford were 3-0 up with little more than half-an-hour gone, after goals from Sergi Canos, Lasse Vibe and Alan Judge.

Wells came on at half-time for Ishmael Miller, and immediately created an opening for Lolley, who fired the ball in from inside the penalty area.

That was as close as Huddersfield got, with Brentford restoring their three-goal advantage less than ten minutes later when Judge was fouled inside the box, and stepped up to hammer home the penalty.

Wells hit the post soon after, and fired wide as Huddersfield pressed forward, but in the end Wagner’s side had to settle for a consolation strike for Kyle Dempsey, two minutes into time added on.
