While I agree with your correspondent, Liesbeth Cooper, concerning the state of the roads, she does state that because of overgrown shrubs and trees, it has become dangerous for pedestrians to walk along Pitts Bay Road.

The owners of all properties should be taking care of their trees and shrubs; it is not the Government’s responsibility.

However, if the property owners do not take care of their responsibilities, then the Government should step in to cut the trees and hedges back, charging the owners of such properties double the cost of doing the job.
