A British travel agency has garnered attention after using its town crier — and a handful of Dark n’ Stormys — to promote travel to Bermuda.

Tickets Travel, in the London borough of Bexley, enlisted its town crier last week to attract customers to its Bermuda and Barbados sale.

Once inside, customers were offered free samples of Bermuda’s iconic Black Seal and ginger beer beverage.

Manager Kirsty Kitching told British website News Shopper that the initiative came about because road work in the area had weakened their business.

“Whilst business is good at Tickets Travel, it could be better,” she said. “This the peak season for travel but we have noticed a decline in footfall since the roadworks have been in place.”
