Some PLP members have short memories

Jamahl Simmons

Dear Sir,

It was interesting to see on the TV news this evening (February 2), Jamahl Simmons criticising the Government for renting out some of the “low-cost housing” called the Grand Atlantic Development, which was built at the direction of the Brown administration. This was supposed to help folks to buy into the island by having so-called low-cost housing, but, unfortunately, the units were priced out of the range of the average person.

I believe I am correct in saying only one unit was sold and that was about five years ago. Talk about a white elephant.

Now that the Government is attempting to recoup some of the losses by renting out to folks from the America’s Cup, Mr Simmons appears to have a problem with a solution, which is temporarily saving money for taxpaying Bermudians.

It is my perception that a number of Progressive Labour Party members have very short memories, when they were responsible for wasting so much of taxpayers’ money. I may be getting old, but there is nothing wrong with my memory.

Yours sincerely,

ANTONY SIESE
