Bank of Butterfield shares lost 50 cents to $33 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The drop, equal to 1.5 per cent, came after 3,348 shares traded.

On the New York Stock Exchange the bank also dropped, down 10 cents, or 0.30 per cent, to $33.34.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed down 22.49 points, or 1.11 per cent, at 1,997.83.

The New York Stock Exchange ended the day up nine points, or 0.47 per cent, at 1,905.34.
