Shares of Ascendant Group, parent company of Belco, rose five cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $16.30 after 1,500 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index today, which was the last trading day for the exchange this week; it is closed tomorrow and Friday for the two-day public holiday that marks Emancipation Day and Somers Day.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were up 57 cents, or 1.15 per cent, at $50.03.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 0.48 of a point, or 0.02 per cent, at 2,818.83.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 0.8 of a point, or 0.04 per cent, at 1,853.69.
