Shares of Ascendant Group Limited were up 50 cents, or 2.9 per cent, to $18 after 15,000 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Meanwhile, Butterfield Bank shares improved by five cents, or 0.1 per cent, to $35 after 6,085 changed hands. In New York, the bank’s shares were down two cents, or 0.06 per cent, at $35.20

On the local exchange, shares of Somers Limited fell by 50 cents, or 3.1 per cent, to $15.50 after 100 traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 3.75 points, or 0.17 per cent, at 2,155.89. The BSX Insurance Index was up 2.73 points, or 0.18 per cent, at 1,556.56.
