Shares of BF&M Ltd rose by 20 cents, or 1.3 per cent, to $16.20 after 2,900 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Also gaining were shares of Ascendant Group, parent company of Belco, which were up 25 cents, or 1.4 per cent, at $18.25 after 854 changed hands.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down 51 cents, or 1.35 per cent, at $37.36.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 3.94 points, or 0.18 per cent, at 2,231.6, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 16.82 points, or 1.11 per cent, at 1,495.75.
