Shares of Butterfield Bank spiked 9.6 per cent on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.The bank gained $2.90 to close on $33 as 778 shares changed hands.Butterfield’s US-listed shares also advanced, adding 15 cents, or 0.66 per cent, to close on $32.66 on the New York Stock Exchange.Ascendant Group Ltd was the most actively traded stock, with 7,500 shares changing hands as the price stayed put on $30.BF&M Ltd was unchanged on $20 as 1,620 shares traded.The Royal Gazette/BSX Index added 130.43 points, or 6.28 per cent, to close on 2,207.58. For the week, the index was up 6.61 per cent.
