Positive view of chores

Different approach: Chores can be learning experiences helping to create new skills

Chore. How often when faced with needing to do something we look upon it as a chore! This harks us back to our younger days when our parents asked us to do “chores” around the house.

So what we often do is to put off getting to these tasks as they appear to us to be unpleasant.

The real challenge here is that, in many instances, these are learning experiences that help us create new skills and then new experience that can help us move forward in our lives and in our careers.

I want to suggest that you approach these situations in a different light — take the word “CHORE”, remove the letter “H” and create a new word — “CORE!” This turns what might have been a negative approach into a positive one where your builds your core competencies and position yourself for better and greater success! So this week move that letter!
