MDM names Richards as new managing director

Appointment: Adam Richards, the new managing director of legal firm Marshall Diel & Myers

Law firm Marshall Diel & Myers has appointed barrister Adam Richards as its new managing director.

Mr Richards, a specialist in family law, took over the top job from Mark Diel, who will remain as a director of the firm and continue to practice in the litigation and advice group.

A statement by the directors of the firm said: “Adam has been ably assisting Mark with the management responsibilities for some time now.

“It was the unanimous view of the directors that the time was right for Adam to become managing director so that he can continue with the good work that he and Mark have already undertaken to move the firm forward.”

Mr Richards, an expert in matrimonial financial proceedings who has often handled complex cases, including ones involving significant wealth, business assets and trust structures, was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2003 and formerly worked at Temple Chambers in London.

He joined Marshall Diel & Myers in 2009 and will continue to work in the firm’s matrimonial and family team.

Mr Diel said: “I am extremely proud of the accomplishments that Adam and I have achieved during the time that we have been managing the firm.

“We have continued to grow Marshall Diel & Myers and have added a number of young talented Bermudians lawyers to our ranks.

“We are well-positioned to build on that growth so that we may continue to offer an efficient, client-focused service.

“Adam will combine the new management responsibilities with his busy practice specialising in all areas of matrimonial and family law, including divorce and children-related matters.”

Mr Diel added: “Adam is a confident and accomplished advocate and is well-respected by his clients for his straightforward advice and practical solutions to achieve the best outcome for each individual.

“I have every faith that Adam possesses the skills necessary to continue the development of the firm into the future.”
