Chubb has participated in a Week of Giving with 90 employees assisting seven community partners for nine distinct projects, resulting in 450 hours of volunteer service to the community. The Employee Week of Giving, which took place October 14 to 18, helped support the following charities: Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation, Bermuda National Trust, Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo, the Eliza DoLittle Society, Meals on Wheels, The Salvation Army, and Family Centre.Employees cleared the hurricane-damaged working-garden at Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation, which is used for primary school programmes, removed old plants and prepared the grounds for replanting at the Bermuda National Trust. In conjunction with the BAMZ, the Aquarium turtles were scrubbed and rinsed clean while Trunk Island was cleared and prepped for reforestation with endemic trees.Through the generosity of Chubb employees, the Eliza DoLittle Society’s food warehouse received seven large boxes of supplies and joined the charity’s staff for the week’s food sorting and distribution. In the same vein, they worked side-by-side with Meals on Wheels to prepare hot meals and deliver them to the island’s homebound seniors. The Salvation Army’s thrift store was refreshed through expert cleaning and skilful organising, allowing it to be better situated for managing donations. Employees also worked alongside Family Centre, making their youth ‘space’ more comfortable with updated painting, and boardroom more vibrant with encouraging quotes.“These activities underscore Chubb’s commitment to social responsibility,” said Lori Dunstan, Chubb Charitable Foundation-Bermuda, chair. “It was an honour to support these charities and to have taken part in their ongoing efforts to have a positive impact on the local community.”
