Man, 52, killed in Warwick domestic incident
A 52-year-old man died last night after an incident at a residence in Warwick.
Detective Sergeant Jason Smith said at the scene: “We can confirm that a man has died as result of this incident and a man has been taken into custody.”
He added that the “circumstances of the case are still developing.”
Police rushed to the house on St Mary’s Road just after midnight.
A police spokesman said: “At around 12.05am, police received a report of a domestic incident at a residence on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick.”
He added: “A second caller reported one of the individuals believed to be involved was carrying a knife and that another person may have been injured.
“As police headed to the scene they observed a male lying bleeding in the roadway on St. Mary’s Road and requested an ambulance.”
The 52-year-old male was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The spokesman added: “A 26-year-old male was taken into custody in connection with this incident.”
