Sobriety checkpoints lead to eight arrests
Eight motorists were arrested for drink-driving over the National Heroes Day holiday weekend.
They were arrested at sobriety checkpoints conducted in six parishes from Thursday through Sunday evening.
There are no road sobriety checkpoints planned for this weekend.
Police urged members of the public to not drive, ride or operate a boat under the influence of alcohol, for the safety of all.
