A 29-year-old Pembroke man is in serious, but not life-threatening, condition at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle crash Saturday.

A police spokesman said that at about 1.45am officers received a report of a collision between a man on a motorcycle and a car near the traffic lights at the junction of Cedar Avenue, St John’s Road and Marsh Folly Road in Pembroke.

The spokesman said: “Details remain limited at this time. However, it is understood that the rider involved was transported to hospital via ambulance for treatment of head injuries and serious injuries to both legs.

“At last check, the 29-year-old male motorcyclist involved remained in hospital for injuries that are understood to be serious but not life-threatening.

“The 34-year-old male driver of the car involved, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving following the collision.”

Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately four hours after the collision while the scene was processed.
