Bermuda’s show jumpers will compete in the 40th edition of the FEI World Jumping Challenge at the National Equestrian Centre on Vesey Street, Devonshire.

A team of 12 local riders will compete in the challenge, whose three dates are Saturday, February 24, Sunday, March 11 and Saturday, March 31.

The WJC provides local riders with an opportunity to compete in an international setting without having to leave their country. Riders from ten different geographical zones will compete over the same courses designed by an FEI course designer.

This year’s course is designed by Jaime Morilla, of Ecuador. The first two competitions will be judged by FEI judge Judy Hagen, of Bermuda, while the third and final event will be judged by FEI judge Wendy Chapot Nunn, of the United States, and Hagen. The jumping height categories in the team and individual classifications will be 1.20-1.30 metres in the A category, 1.10-1.20 in category B and 1.00-1.10 in category C.

Philip Correia, riding Emerson, and Kirista Rabain, on Helsinki, secured the overall top two category A spots in regional zone 10 at the previous challenge.
