They are incredibly intricate – and beautiful – and Burton Jones is hoping they will catch the eye of the tens of thousands of people expected to descend on Dockyard for the America’s Cup.

Mr Jones owns and runs the Littlest Drawbridge, a shop specialising in carvings out of Bermuda cedar.

“They are expecting an unprecedented number of people to attend and I am just a few hundred feet away from where everything is happening,” he said.

“I am hoping that there will be a lot of traffic that will filter through to the shop.”

The Littlest Drawbridge specialises in cedar work but sells a variety of other goods including hand towels and glassware and uses lasers to engrave graphics onto cedar works.

“The America’s Cup cannot help but be good for Bermuda simply because of the crowds alone,” Jones said. “Hopefully it will also introduce other people to the island, as well as their friends and business associates.”
