Fairmont Southampton have announced a new partnership with Goslings to operate the World Par 3 Championship, to be known as The Dark N Stormy World Par 3 Championship at the iconic Turtle Hill Golf Club.

In its eleventh year, the world’s premier par 3 championship will take place March 5 to 7 and offer a total purse of $50,000.

For the first time, the winner will qualify to play in the PGA Tour Bermuda Championship.

The event is expected to attract 120 participants, including a number of noted professionals.

The field will be rounded out by an impressive list of amateur golfers from Bermuda, the United States, Canada and Europe.

“Fairmont Southampton is absolutely delighted to announce our partnership with Goslings for the Dark N’ Stormy World Par 3 Championship,” said Kiaran MacDonald, regional vice-president and general manager, Fairmont Southampton.

“We are very proud of this event and see it as a signature event for the resort and Bermuda.”

“Players can expect a challenging 18 hole par 3 course, subtropical surroundings, dramatic elevation changes and coastal winds. This challenging 2,684 yard golf course is designed to take your short game to new heights. There will be three great days of Golf and events open to amateurs and professionals.

“We are all very excited for this event and look forward to a fantastic partnership and Tournament.”

Meanwhile, Nancy Gosling, president and chief executive of Goslings Brothers Limited spoke of her excitement for the tournament.

“We could not be more delighted to be involved in this tournament,” she said.

“Over the past few years Goslings has become more involved in golf tournaments and this one is especially exciting because it is going to be one of the rare ones that has Men and Women professionals playing together.

“This year we know that we have Shannon Johnson the USGA Mid-Amateur Champion in 2018 and Megan Buck who was the 2019 semi-finalist. We are looking forward to seeing many people participate in this tournament and taking it forward.”
