Jackson and Weinstein join BDA board

The Bermuda Business Development Agency has appointed two new directors.

Andrea Jackson, senior vice-president and trust relationship manager at Lombard Odier Trust Bermuda and Stephen Weinstein, senior vice-president and group general counsel at RenaissanceRe have both joined the board.

Ms Jackson has been involved with the BDA for three years as a member and leader of the agency’s trust and private client working group.

She has worked on law reform initiatives and helped with securing the Transcontinental Trusts International Forum to Bermuda in 2015, an event which is now a fixture on the industry calendar.

Ms Jackson said: “I believe strongly in the work the BDA does to attract further business and companies to Bermuda to help grow our economy and create more jobs.

“I now look forward to continuing my work with the agency as a member of the board.”

Mr Weinstein, RenRe’s chief legal officer and chairman of the RenRe Risk Sciences Foundation, is a graduate of Columbia College, New York and Harvard Law School.

He said: “Throughout out 23-year history, RenaissanceRe has been committed to supporting the development of Bermuda as a pre-eminent international business platform, as well as a rewarding place to live and work.

“Bermuda remains the ideal location to domicile and headquarter a company like ours.

“Personally, the evolution of the Bermuda market over time has been at the heart of my professional life.

“I look forward to supporting the outstanding team at BDA and its partners across Team Bermuda to help build on our achievements to date.”

BDA chairman Kiernan Bell said: “They are talented, erudite individuals with the drive and experience to help us work with the public and private sectors to keep and create jobs and raise Bermuda’s gross domestic product.

She added: “I thank them both, and their respective employers, for committing their time and energy for the good of the island and I look forward to working with them.”
