Dear Sir,

It grieves me to have to put pen to paper but, alas, I cannot go on without voicing concern about the situation that is occurring in these islands.

What I witnessed last night watching the television news has got to be the most outrageous and offensive display of attitude that I have seen any leader take in some time.

Who does Chris Furbert think he is? What I witnessed was a power-hungry control freak completely out of control.

He says he is acting on the direction from the members, but my sources are telling me that the majority of the Bermuda Industrial Union members do not support his position. They are telling me that this is not their issue, particularly as it relates to the Reverend Nicholas Tweed.

I am reliably informed that it is only a few radicals at the top that are calling the shots.

I sincerely hope that the Premier, Michael Dunkley, and his government will not relent. I hope Bermuda realises the damage that Furbert will do to destroy the recovery that has taken place and will take place in our economy.

He must be stopped. Chris Furbert and the other union leader I saw, Jason Hayward, are simply acting like spoilt brats who want their own way. This must not be allowed.
