Evidence for ‘no confidence’?

Where's the evidence? Shawn Crockwell

Dear Sir,

I have known Michael Dunkley for a long time. He is as straight-shooting, honest and hard-working a man as you will ever meet. He is passionate about Bermuda and is a successful businessman. One wonders sometimes why he puts up with some of the abuse he gets, but that is how much he cares about this island.

He would accept that the One Bermuda Alliance has made some mistakes during his time as premier, but name me a government anywhere in the world that hasn’t.In the main, under his leadership, Bermuda has made some great strides forward as we slowly climb out of the deep hole we were in.

So I cannot understand where Shawn Crockwell is coming from when he talks about “no confidence” in the Premier. On what basis does he say that?

I have not heard any real evidence from Mr Crockwell; just some wishy-washy statements, which would appear to be politically motivated towards his own ends. He has betrayed his constituents and the OBA, for which he was a driving force in the early years.

He should resign from the House and take no further part in politics unless he can be re-elected in another election.

I can speak for a large number of people when I say that I have confidence in the direction that the present government is taking us, and in the Premier. The alternative would be a disaster.
