Post office neglects privacy

Dear Sir,

I was brought up with the concept of not opening up any mail not addressed to oneself and that posted mail was for the eyes of the recipient only.

This does not appear to be the case with the Bermuda Post Office.

Attached is a scan of an envelope, correctly addressed, with the sender’s name and address in the top left-hand corner, as required by Bermuda postal regulations, yet it has been opened and sealed with Sellotape.

If it cannot be delivered for whatever reason, it should not have been opened, when all of the required details are on the outside.

Privacy does not seem to exist these days. The postal authorities should not open up such correspondence.

If anything is missing from the envelope, further action will be considered.
