Dear Sir,

In my letter published in yesterday’s Royal Gazette, I did state that I did not know the full facts. While I am not on Facebook and have not had sight of what actually happened, I have been informed from a reliable source that the tourists used excessive force to recover their property.

I do not condone the robbery of tourists and I trust that the perpetrators of the crime will be prosecuted.

I did get a telephone call from another Bermudian stating he would assist in the payment of the fine.

However, in view of being better informed, I have to withdraw my offer because of the excessive force used after recovering their property.
