Dear Sir,

I spent every summer, spring break and most Christmas holidays on the island of Bermuda as a child until my late teenage years. I write to thank two special Bermudians today.

As I was standing waiting at the bus stop after my grocery shopping, one very kind woman stopped to ask if I needed a ride. She was going in the opposite direction, and I declined.

A second minibus driver stopped to ask the same question. He too was going in the opposite direction but insisted. He declined any fare and went out of his way to help me on a rainy Saturday morning with two full grocery bags.

Thank you Jamal for your kindness and for renewing the island hospitality I knew as a child.
