Bermuda-based global payment gateway First Atlantic Commerce and Butterfield Bank have teamed up to offer island charities cut-rate online processing fees.

FAC will provide online gateway transaction processing services free of charge to local charities.

Chris Burns, CEO of FAC, said: “We currently assist several charities with their eCommerce and want to extend that to all local registered charities that require online credit card processing services.”

Butterfield will offer heavily reduced discount and transaction fee rates and waive the monthly fee for charities who want to do online commerce.

Peter Jackson, group head of card services, said: “This is one of the ways in which we can give back to the community this holiday season and throughout the year.

“We work very closely with First Atlantic Commerce and are thrilled to start the holiday season together with FAC in the spirit of giving.”
