Red Steakhouse and Bar on Front Street will serve its last dinner service on Saturday.

After 5½ years it is to make way for a rebranded concept that will open a week later. What the new venture will be called and what it will offer is being kept a secret — for now.

Douglas Olson, the owner, said: “We’re changing the business and trying to do something different, something new and fresh.”

Front Street has seen a number of new bar and restaurants open during the past year, including The Dog House and The Astwood Arms.

Mr Olson said the rebranded business would be more women-friendly, have bright lights and greenery, and be focused on lunches and happy hours. More details are expected to be announced early next week, with the new look premises due to open on March 22.
