A business that aims to improve the lives of others through positive thinking, healthy nutrition advice and exercise, now offers a meal prep service.

Holistic Fitness BDA was created by transformation coach Scott Smith two years ago.

“I had the meal plan in mind for a while,” he said. “I aim to teach people how to eat and what to eat. Most people claim they don’t have the time, the knowhow or the desire to prepare their own food.

“As of late, there has been a rise in interest in a plant-based diet. Again, I often hear people say they want to try it but don’t know what to eat.”

All the meals are dairy, nut and meat free, mainly consisting of vegetables, herbs, legumes, potatoes and various pasta and noodle options.

Mr Smith believes there is a stigma that meatless meals have less flavour, and eating plant-based is more of a punishment than enjoyable.

“I liaised with one of my clients who is also a chef to start meal prepping food,” he said. The chef who prepares the meals is Mel Dupres.

The meals are prepared for current Holistic Fitness clients and anyone else who is interested.

“Once people start, they stick around due to the convenience and the ever-changing menu. Every day for a month there is a different meal,” Mr Smith said.

His passion is to help inspire people to eat and live a healthy lifestyle.

“I want to make it easy for those wishing to eat to improve their life. Your food should be as delicious as it is nutritious. I can’t stress enough the importance of a good diet. Research is finding that multiple sicknesses such as diabetes, common colds, ADHD and even cancers are directly related to the foods that we eat day in day out.

“I’m not saying you have to completely quit eating the foods that don’t serve us, but you have to understand eating one or two cookies a day is far better than eating the whole package.”

The meals are $75 per week which is a total of five meals that can be delivered around the Hamilton area, or be picked up on Mondays and Thursdays from Elite Fitness gym, which is adjacent to Little Learners Pre-School on Woodlands Road, Pembroke.
