Gosling’s will tomorrow offer customers the chance to buy a very special holiday tipple.Bottles of the rare Papa Seal Rum will be available for just one day at the beverage maker and distributor’s Dundonald Street store only.The entire output of this special release of Papa Seal is limited to one barrel.It is reserved only for Bermuda customers and its contents hand bottled, numbered and packaged in attractive display boxes.Each customer is limited to a maximum purchase of six bottles, which will retail at $189 each.In a statement, Gosling’s described the limited-release rum thus: “Slowly aged to perfection on island in hand selected, single-use bourbon barrels, Papa Seal is startlingly mellow with an elegant finish carrying notes of spice, leather, banana, caramel and molasses.”Gosling’s recommends that it be savoured neat over a single cube of ice.Malcolm Gosling, the seventh-generation patriarch of the island’s largest goods export business, said: “Our obsession has always been on crafting the finest rums possible, not the most rums. “With that mantra in mind, we proudly created Papa Seal — ‘the father of all rums’.
