Rescued crew arriving tomorrow

Rescue ship: K Coral

The crew who escaped a burning fishing vessel, rescued on Tuesday with help from Bermuda Maritime Operations, continue on their journey to the island on the rescue ship.

However, one of the two survivors who sustained third degree burns has succumbed to his injuries.

The rescue boat, the merchant ship K Coral, is expected to arrive at 8am tomorrow off the East End, so that the other injured crewman can be evacuated to LF Wade International Airport, and flown to the United States by US Air Force craft for further treatment.

The deceased crew member will be disembarked with the remaining survivors, pending Immigration procedures, according to the BMO.
