Cheryl Hayward-Chew has been named as the new chairwoman of the board at Bermuda Hospitality Institute.

BHI’s previous chairwoman was Muriel Richardson, who served on the board for five years but retired earlier this after many years in the hospitality industry.

Malika Cartwright, executive director, said in a press release: “Cheryl has served as a Board member of BHI for five years and has dedicated her time and expertise to ensure the success of the organisation.

“Her wide reaching experience will help ensure BHI grows and continues its vital work on behalf of the hospitality industry.”

Ms Hayward-Chew is president and CEO at Meyer Group of Companies, and is on the boards of the Meyer Group of Companies, Polaris Holdings, Bermuda International Shipping, Freisenbruch-Meyer Group and the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce.

The Bermuda Hospitality Institute was founded six years ago as a non-profit membership organisation encouraging the development, growth and sustainability of Bermudians in the hospitality industry. For more information, visit www.BHI.bm.
