The Progressive Labour Party this weekend hosted a Back-to-School Fun Day at Victor Scott School.

The annual event organised by Walter Roban, Michael Weeks and Rolfe Commissiong offered family activities and entertainment, along with providing children with school supplies.

Speaking yesterday, Mr Weeks called the event a resounding success.

“Many members from the Pembroke community and beyond were able to enjoy a day of fun, entertainment and food, with students even receiving giveaways that will help them prepare for the new school year,” he said. Mr Commissiong said hundreds of community members were able to attend the event, thanking the sponsors, volunteers and the community for their contributions, which made the event a success. Mr Roban added: “We understand that there are those within our community who often are unable to obtain all the resources necessary going into the school year, and there are parents who sometimes just need a little extra help. This was the underlying reason for us hosting this event and we are pleased that it was such a success.”
