Bermuda residents will get the chance to purchase America’s Cup tickets at discounted prices when they go on sale this week.

The locals-only offer will be available from this Friday on the website www.americascup.com with tickets 25 to 50 per cent less than the standard price.

Prices will vary depending on the various venues.

Ticket options include:

• Entrance to the America’s Cup Village;

• Grandstand seats;

• Official spectator boats;

• Longtail Lounge hospitality;

• Goslings Dark ‘n Stormy Island Bar;

• Private boat registration.

The spectacle begins with the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Qualifiers on May 26, when all six America’s Cup teams compete in a double round robin series of match races. That will conclude on Saturday, June 3, when one team will drop out of the reckoning and Oracle Team USA, the defenders of the America’s Cup, will stand back from the next round.

The play-offs, featuring the remaining teams, will begin on Sunday, June 4 and finish on Monday, June 12.

Oracle will then meet the play-off winners between Saturday, June 17 to Tuesday, June 27 in a first to seven points race series.
