Local police assist with Jamaica death

The Bermuda Police Service has confirmed it is assisting with the investigation into the death of a 55-year-old Bermudian found dead in Jamaica last month.

Ronald Raynor was discovered in bushes in St James, Jamaica, on March 28.

Mr Raynor, 55, a former Pembroke resident, was living in Jamaica at the time of his death, police said.

“The circumstances of Mr Raynor’s death are suspicious,” Bermuda Police said in a press release this morning.

Police in Jamaica are treating the matter as a murder investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Superintendent Sean Field-Lament on 717-0386 or sfield@bps.bm, or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477.

Meanwhile, police provided an update on the condition of a man injured in a car crash in Southampton earlier this month.

It happened on Middle Road, near Granaway Heights Road, at around 2am on April 16.

The 20-year-old, believed to be from Pembroke, has been transferred from the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit to a general ward in stable condition.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators on 247-1788.
