Ferry service returns to East End

They’re back: after a six-month break, the Olde Towne welcomed hundreds of ferry passengers back to port as the summer ferry service resumed yesterday.

The Orange route cruised into port at Ordnance Island, with St George’s town crier David Frith on hand to greet disembarking visitors.

With the Norwegian Breakaway at Dockyard, the service had no shortage of customers for the East End — where shops and restaurants gratefully received the extra trade.

The Seven Seas Navigator is set to call twice next month on St George’s — the biggest cruise ship to pull up at Penno’s Wharf so far this season.
