A Bermudian DJ is making headlines in Vogue for his music — and his Gombey style.

Noise Cans, who wears a Gombey-style mask to hide his identity, was highlighted in an article on the Vogue website.

It hailed the DJ’s EP Masquearave as a “a joyous opus of roots, rock and reggae with an EDM dancehall incantation, delivered at a feverishly amplified pitch”.

The artist said: “I look at it like Noise Cans is its own Gombey troupe, making music and still using that vibe and that really unique style. The mask just gives me this energy, this new-found power, this freedom.”
