KES the Band is back in Bermuda with plans to rock the America’s Cup.

The soca/pop group from Trinidad and Tobago are set to take to the main stage tomorrow night in the America’s Cup Event Village.

Speaking in advance of their performance, the band said they were thrilled to be back on the island for the third time, even though the weather had not always played nice.

Lead singer Kees Dieffenthaller said: “We always enjoy going coming to Bermuda to play, beautiful place. I remember it rained a lot at the third show, which was down at the stadium, I believe. That didn’t mess up the vibes at all.”

Asked about the highlights of their time on the island, the band said they enjoyed being able to go out and get lost on a scooter, watching local cricket and swimming in the warm water.

Bermuda is just one of several stops for the band this year, he said.

“We have hit Jamaica, Canada, Miami, New York City and Orlando so far and would be heading out to other US territories, Canada again, Barbados, St Vincent, St Lucia and Antigua all in the next couple months.”

Asked what concert goers can expect from their show, Mr Dieffenthaller said: “Energy! Good vibes and music from all over the world, KES style.”

KES the Band are set to take the stage at the conclusion of racing tomorrow. Tickets for the show and the day’s sailing — the first day of the finals of the America’s Cup Challenger Playoffs — are available at www.americascup.com/tickets for $30.
