A 120ft superyacht that hit the rocks on Sunday has been freed.

According to Bermuda Maritime Operations, the Jetsetter ran aground near Stag Rocks in the Great Sound. However, the vessel was not taking on water, and first responders found no evidence of pollution in the area.

Initial attempts to pull the vessel clear of the reef failed and it was decided to try and pull the yacht free on the next high tide.

All guests were taken ashore while attempts were made to lighten the vessel.

A local salvage contractor accompanied by Marine and Ports assets returned and successfully pulled the vessel free.

Jetsetter, which was built in Italy and is valued at more than $16 million, was escorted to an anchoring position south of Morgan’s Point for a hull survey.
