Rubis relaunches fundraising contest

Local charities will benefit from the Fuelling 4 a Cause competition which has been launched by Rubis Energy Bermuda for a second year.

Twelve charities will have a featured tag day in the Rubis network during 2018 and feature in the firm’s 2018 calendar as well as taking part in the contest.

They are Action on Alzheimer’s, Adult Education School, Bermuda Diabetes Association, Centre Against Abuse, Pals, St David’s Primary PTA, Family Centre, The National Trust, The Reading Clinic, Warwick Academy PTA, WindReach Bermuda, and the Women’s Resource Centre.

From now until December 4, Rubis will donate five cents per gallon of fuel sold at its network of service stations, to be shared among the 12 charities based on the number of “Likes” they attract on the Rubis Facebook page.

Motorists also have the chance to win free fuel by purchasing $20 or more of fuel and then correctly identifying any of the 12 charities that are part of the promotion.

Managing director Graham Redford said: “We are committed to Bermuda and we are proud to be able to help these worthy charities, who all provide important support and services for our island residents.

“Last year, we donated over $30,000 and are hoping that with the support of the motoring public, we may be able to donate even more this year.”
