The St George’s Marine Expo scheduled for Sunday has been postponed because of expected bad weather.

The event will instead take place at Ordinance Island on April 15, from 11am until 6pm.

Ray Lambert, Bermuda Economic Development Corporation’s economic development officer for St George’s, said: “Over the past few days, we have closely monitored the island’s forecast and have also spoke to experts at the Bermuda Weather Service and Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences.

“Both have advised that their models suggest there will be moderate to strong winds and possibly thunder on Sunday.

“We believe the weather will affect the overall experience of our many supporters. Most importantly, it is a safety concern for the vendors with their tents, the boats and also for the public.”

The event is hosted by BEDC and title sponsor Rubis Energy Bermuda.

It celebrates the island’s maritime culture and showcases businesses, organisations and opportunities in the marine industry.

Interested sponsors and participants should call 704-9057 or e-mail rlambert@bedc.bm.
