A workman at a business on Industrial Road in Southampton required hospital treatment this morning after a blow to the head from falling off a 6ft ladder.

Fire service staff attended the industrial accident at Viking Foods shortly before 9am, where the injured man was said to be “not responding normally”.

The man sustained a head laceration and was taken for treatment. The Department of Health and Safety were notified, a fire service spokeswoman said.
