Injured BTC worker remains in hospital

A BTC worker injured in an industrial accident at a school last week was still in hospital today.

The 60-year-old telecoms workman was injured after he slipped off a ladder and fell 40 feet down a service shaft at Pembroke’s Berkeley Institute on Friday morning.

He suffered cuts to his head and complained of chest pain.

Police said that the man was “stable” on a general ward at King Edward Memorial VII Hospital.

A police spokesman said the incident was still under investigation by Government’s health and safety officer.
