Leslie 6am update: Stronger winds

Strong winds are expected over the next three days as a result of Tropical Storm Leslie.

The storm was expected this morning to be at its closest point to Bermuda today and through tomorrow.

The Bermuda Weather Service warned winds would be strongest during this period at about 28mph.

Seas are expected to be in the very rough range.

A small-craft warning is in place and is expected to remain through Thursday.

Leslie was not listed as a threat to the island this morning.

Its closest approach in the next three days is expected to be tomorrow at 9pm, when it will be 530 miles to the east of the island.

At 6am today, Leslie was 640 miles to the east-northeast of Bermuda, packing winds of 57mph and gusts of 69mph. It was moving west-southwest at about 5mph.
